Our New Home

Well, we made it. After several stressful weeks, we have finally moved into our new house. We love it so much. It's everything we ever wanted. Alex, of course, is thrilled with his new bedroom and it's view. Alivia...doesn't really understand what is happening, except she loves walking around the island in the kitchen. One thing I don't understand....HOW ON EARTH DID WE ACCUMULATE SO MUCH JUNK??? Here is a picture of it. More to come...when I have some time between unpacking boxes!

It went by so fast!

Last September
This September

Look who turned one!

Well, about a month ago the Princess (otherwise known as Alivia) turned a year old. We cannot believe a year has gone by so fast. It seems like just yesterday I was begging the doctor to "put me out of my misery and get this thing out of me!" Alivia turned a year old on September 27, 2008. She is a "whopping" 17 pounds and 15 ounces.

New House!

We have some exciting news! For those of you who don't know, we have been tossing back and forth the idea of moving and buying vs. building for quite a while. We finally made the decision in July to build. Well, we visited the site this week and they've started the construction! We have a giant hole! :-) They dug for our basement on Wednesday! We are very excited! We are looking at a November closing date, so we should be in by Christmas.

In other news, Alivia is teething and a cranky monster alien has taken over her little body! Poor thing, we can't wait for those teeth to finally cut through so we can have our sweetie back to normal!

Alex is starting Preschool after Labor Day and he is extremely nervous. I will be staying with him the entire time on his first day, so hopefully that will help.

Little Peanut!

We took Alivia in for her 10 month check up today and here are her stats:

Weight: 17 lbs. 5 oz. (15th percentile)
Height: 26.5 inches (7th percentile)
Head C: 44 cm. (35th percentile)

She had two shots today and cried HARD! But the sweetest part of it was that Alex was in the room. He was standing next to me on a step stool by her head and when she started screaming he looked at the nurse and said "You're mean!" Poor nurse...she's only doing her job! Good to know that he's looking out for his baby sis!

Uh-Oh!

Alivia had her first major boo boo yesterday. She fell from the kitchen into the garage (about a 3 inch step) onto concrete floor. She terrified me b/c she acted really strange for about a minute. The doctor reassured me that everything was fine and gave me the warning signs to look out for in case of a concussion. Needless to say she was completely back to normal within a few minutes, but it did scare the you know what outta me! And look...she learned a new word!

Thunderstorms, Teething, & Sleepwalking- OH MY!

Last night was not a very good night in our household! Poor little Livibug (her nickname) has a very stuffed up nose and I'm pretty sure it's due to her teething. She was up a lot- but every time I went to her she was already asleep! Poor Alex "woke" up around 11:30 or so and stood at the top of the stairs crying "Mommy." Poor little guy had no idea where he was...and when I put him back to bed he just cried and cried. We also had some very impressive lightning last night that kept me awake. So needless to say...I'm sleepy! Is it naptime yet?

I'm playing around with this website trying to figure out all the features so here's a video of about a month ago. Alivia had just started crawling for real and not pulling herself all over the place. Alex decided to help her!

Today we're going to have a "field trip." We're going to a local farm to buy some sweet corn. It has a market, a play area, and lots of animals to see for fun. Alex is extremely excited. Hopefully Mommy doesn't melt in the heat!

Here I go...

Well, here I am. In order to attempt to keep our friends and family up to date on our lives, I've joined the blogging world. Bear with me, this is all very new to me! I hope to update this frequently.

It is midsummer here in Ohio and the weather is MISERABLE. Hot and humid...but that doesn't stop Alex from wanting to go outside and play all the time. His hair is definitely lightening up and he's getting his tan back and looking more and more like a little surfer dude. Today he "watched" his Diego sprinkler. For those of you who do not know, it takes him a LONG time to get used to anything that has to do with water. He did end up playing in it...I think he may even have gotten sprayed!

Alivia is exploring more and more each day. She has learned that there is a whole world outside the living room to crawl around in. She especially loves the stairs...although she hasn't ventured onto them yet. She sits at the bottom and just yells at them. Her other new favorite toy is the pedals on the piano. They are just perfect for her to pound on.

As soon as I figure out how to post pictures I will get them on here!
