A good friend of mine asked me if I kept up on my blog and of course I said...no! So, I've decided to make it a goal to try to keep up on it better than last year. So I thought I would start by sharing our summer.
First, my baby sister got married in June. Crazy to think of her as being married, and even crazier to think of her being 26! I can vividly remember the annoying 13 year old who constantly wanted to follow me and my friends around all the time. She was a beautiful bride and it was a beautiful day. (Besides the heat and the fact that there was no A/C in the church.) Alex was the ring bearer and looked so cute in a tux. He was really proud of his suit. Alivia was the princess. Oh, I mean the flower girl. If you ask her, though, she was the princess. She did a really good job but decided about 1/4 of the way down the aisle to grab the flowers in giant handfuls and throw them down on the ground...not gently either! She did not smile the entire night! Those of you that know her know that this is not unusual. I promise she is a happy child, but boy...she does not like people!
After my sister's wedding we went on vacation to Savannah, GA. This is the first family vacation we've taken with Alivia and we had so much fun. Savannah is a beautiful city and I highly recommend visiting it if you haven't. If I had to move and live in the South, this is where I would live. We visited the beach at Tybee Island and the kids got their first taste of the ocean. Both of them loved it and I was pretty sure that Alivia was going to swim away!
We had another wedding and some small weekend trips as well. The kids and I tried to enjoy this summer because it was a short one. School started back for me this week. I will try to get some pictures posted soon.
